FAKE FAKES
Campbelltown Arts Centre and Western Sydney University present Fake Fakes, a social ceramic workshop inspired by artist Claudia Nicholson’s practise and her interest in pre-Columbian figurative sculptures and counterfeit items. You will recieve a pack delivered to your door with everything you need to make your very own work of art and during the workshop you will receive an introduction into Claudia’s practice and ceramic hand-building techniques before creating and embellishing your own figurative vessel.
The workshop will be held 28 July, 5-6.30pm on WESTERNLife. Upon purchase of your ticket, a box will be delivered direct to your door containing all the information, tools and materials required for the workshop. If you are unable to make the workshop participants will be able to access video tutorials by Claudia to watch within a two week window.
About the Artist:
Claudia Nicholson is an interdisciplinary artist based on Gadigal land (Sydney, Australia). Her practice examines psychic and physical connections to place through multidisciplinary forms of art making including painting, installation, performance and video. She is interested in creating acts of collective remembrance, exploring the ways in which we navigate the complexities of identity in a post-colonial context.
