AAYC was created in 2019 in response to the need for a Western Sydney University student club that represented African students and friends of Africa. The African Diaspora community and perspective is very important to the Western Sydney context and beyond. The founders of AAYC have set out to deliver a club that offers students the opportunity to participate in personal and professional enhancing activities that focus on issues affecting Africans on the African continent as well as the Diaspora.

The 3 focus areas of the Collective are:
1. Community engagement
2. Career advancement
3. Creative arts

The core objective of the Collective is to provide a creative and supportive network where members can use their passions and skills to build a portfolio that they can transfer into their career area of choice. The Collective endeavours to work on existing and new projects that focus on empowering and uplifting Africans, especially the Diaspora in the Western Sydney Community. Furthermore, the Collective wishes to facilitate cultural understanding and exchanges for members of the wider

Western Sydney University Muslim Students’ Association (WSMSA) is the official representative body of Muslims on campus. WSMSA operates on a cross-campus level.

On the Parramatta campus, WSMSA aims to:

- Cater to the needs of Muslims on campus and foster an Islamic environment;

- Propogate Islam and its understanding, to both Muslims and non-Muslims

WSMSA Parramatta seeks to achieve these objectives through maintaining the prayer room for all Muslims to use, arranging both social and religious events, and breaking-down barriers between Muslims and non-Muslims. We also barrack for the provision of halal food for Muslims on campus, . These things, amongst many others, are done to accommodate the needs of Muslims on campus.

We also hold events and initiatives to promote Islam. These events focus on a variety of topics, from core Islamic matters central to every Muslim, to the controversial topics that flourish the headlines. Through this, we aim to educate Muslims and non-Muslims about Islam so that they may gain a sound and thorough understanding, as we seek to engage in intellectual discourse with all manner of other faiths.
