MATES Mentor Information Session for 2026

Are you looking for an opportunity to become engaged in Western's broader community, and interested to know what being a volunteer peer mentor with the MATES Program is about?

Join us for an online Information Session to find out more about this peer leadership opportunity. Find out what being a MATES mentor is about, the time commitment involved, as well as what benefits, rewards and recognition our volunteers can receive by participating in the program.

Please note that there are eligibilty criteria to become a MATES mentor, which include having successfully completed two teaching sessions at Western.

If you are new to the university and want to explore whether this opportunity would suit you after you've completed your first year at Western, you are welcome to attend. Please please note, if you are looking to connect with a mentor for guidance, this event does not provide that opportunity.

Registration for new students to join MATES and conenct with a mentor will open in the new year (2026) and if you would like to receive notification of when registration goes live, send an email to mates@westernsydney.edu.au
