A little about this mentor:

Starting uni is a big step, and as your mentor I really hope I can make your first year feel fun, memorable and something you look back on positively! A little bit about me: I'm half Fiji Indian and half Maltese and my culture is a huge part of who I am. I also work as a student casual at the Student Services Hub and I was also part of the Western Success team last year. Through these roles, I have had the chance to work with students from all backgrounds and experiences and I have learnt that everyone carries their own strengths even during tough times. I know that starting uni can feel very strange and overwhelming at first, speaking from experience. It wasn't until I met a tutor who believed in not just me but all her students and wanted to see us thrive beyond academics, that my perspective changed.  From that experience, I realised what an amazing opportunity it is to have such an impact on someone's life and I'd love to be that kind of support for someone else. As your mentor, I aim to create a supportive, non-judgemental space where students of all ages, cultures and genders feel heard, understood and reminded that they're not alone and yes, there will absolutely be snacks and food involved!  Outside of uni, I love visiting Fiji where I see my family and enjoy the scenery of the beautiful Natadola Beach and the animals. I also love baking, it has always been a big passion of mine, one that I am hoping to bring to mates. Thank you for stopping by my profile. This is a welcoming, safe space for all genders, ages and cultures. So come join, tell your story. I'm always happy to help with any questions, settling in or just having a chat
