The SDG Students Program aims to create a global network of student hubs, where students can come together to learn about, engage with, and take action on the SDGs. We are committed to transforming Western into a hub of learning and engagement for the SDGs, as well as drivers of new solutions to local problems.

Membership Benefits
Involvement in the Hub can lead to recognition from UN SDSN Youth (SDG Students Program Certificate), leadership and professional development opportunities, increased employability, global networking, and being a part of a community of like-minded students from diverse disciplines and backgrounds. It is an opportunity for students to increase the efficacy and reach of the University’s commitment to education for sustainability while providing a platform for students to engage with issues around sustainability which are of specific import to them.

Any university student with a passion to learn about, engage with, and take action on the SDGs can join. It’s that simple! All you need to do is sign up here on WESTERNlife, then fill out the Program application (link below) to let the SDG Students Program networking team know you've joined. This will allow you to complete the SDSN Youth onboarding process.

Climate Fresk is a interactive workshop on the causes and consequences of climate change. It allows participants to learn, connect with others and be inspired to take action.

This group is for those who are interested in Climate Fresk, have attended a workshop or are keen to learn more. Everyone is welcome!

We invite you to The Table.

Breaking down any exclusivity, we warmly welcome everyone to join and ‘have a seat at the table’. Whether you picture this table to be a dinner table or a table in a corporate boardroom, by entering this space you are open to share your ideas and experiences without judgement in a safe space. LEAD and Inclusive Communities have come together to create a series of events aimed at feeding both your mind, body and soul.

Each fortnight we will delve into a current affairs or social topic based around a question the group is looking to answer. The Community Table is a similar format to Triple J's HACK or INSIGHT on SBS. That being at its core, this is a roundtable discussion where a topic is broken down each week.

Shared knowledge, community connection and empathy is the underlying goal for these events. Previous questions included:
- Should there be things money can’t buy?
- Is education a privilege or a right?
- How can we promote a LGBQTIA+ inclusive work environment?
- How do we bridge our personal backgrounds into a multicultural student community?

So, bring along something good to eat, open your mind and be part of the conversations that challenge us to think, do and be better.

Our mission is to assist Elite Student Athletes and Performers get the most out of their time at Western Sydney University by providing them the support they need to succeed both in their academic and sporting pursuits.

Membership Benefits
Once approved as a member of the Elite Athlete and Supporters Program, you will gain access to a range of benefits that will help make your time studying with Western Sydney University a more enjoyable experience and allow you to better juggle all of your commitments.

Benefits include:
- Assistance with timetabling in order to allow you to fit your studies in with training commitments and competitions.
- Assistance with academic special consideration applications.
- Exposure and a recognised Elite Athlete or Performer profile within the University.
- Subsidised cost for representing Western Sydney at Unisport endorsed events
- Access to additional financial support to assist in covering costs associated with elite level competitions.
- Free or subsidised memberships to Western Sydney University partnered fitness centres.
- Access to partnership programs with various Western Sydney University Schools and Departments such
as Sport and Exercise Science & discounted access to the UniClinic at Campbelltown including free initial
consultation and heavily discounted prices thereafter
- And further entitlements as they are developed

English Conversation Groups (ECG) are run by trained student volunteers in a fun and friendly environment. The program consists of weekly, one-hour sessions during Autumn and Spring terms. You can choose to join either an online group or a face-to-face group.

The Chaplaincy service at Western Sydney University attends to the spiritual well-being of students and the university community more broadly. The pursuit of a higher education and the honing of career pathways is a spiritually rich and challenging process that involves deep reflection about one’s purpose, values and relationships. It is also a time in which students have the opportunity to make lasting friendships. Our multifaith chaplaincy operates in acknowledgement of a diverse community of ethnic and religious backgrounds. We see ourselves as a key collaborator in the University’s purpose of embracing diversity.

You may often find us cooking meals. This is in order to slow things down in this fast-paced lifestyle and create opportunities for connecting, dialogue and friendship. Such activity is the old-school approach to hospitality. The Placements Hub, is a central team at Western that manages student compliance assessment requirements and data.

To commence a NSW Health placement, students must produce evidence of current immunisation or vaccination against infectious diseases.

Students MUST be assessed, and as an outcome of your assessment you may be deemed 'Compliant', 'Temporary Compliant' or 'Not Compliant'.

It is a mandatory requirement for your NSW Health placement, and you cannot attend your placement without it. The Student Compliance team is here to assist you.
