The Assyrian Student Association strives to create a safe and fun community for Assyrians and those wanting to learn about Assyrian culture.

We are different from existing clubs as we will be one of the firsts to communicate and teach others about the indigenous Assyrian culture as a club within Western Sydney University.

Our main purpose is to create dialogue between Assyrians and the community, and to formulate a safe inclusive group for Assyrians and those that are interested in Assyrian culture. CBM Penrith is a group of Jesus-believing, Bible-reading students. People from any church or none at all are welcome to join with us.

We meet throughout the week to read the Bible, pray, and think about what it means to follow Jesus. We have daily Bible study groups for Christians to grow in their knowledge of God, daily groups for those who wish to investigate Christianity, a weekly public meeting where we gather together for a talk and to think deeper, and a Monday night training time with dinner. We also have 2 major conferences in the middle and end of the year, and go away on Mission together at the end of semester 2.

Involvement in the Hub can lead to recognition from UN SDSN Youth (SDG Students Program Certificate), leadership and professional development opportunities, increased employability, global networking, and being a part of a community of like-minded students from diverse disciplines and backgrounds. It is an opportunity for students to increase the efficacy and reach of the University’s commitment to education for sustainability while providing a platform for students to engage with issues around sustainability which are of specific import to them.

We invite you to The Table.

Breaking down any exclusivity, we warmly welcome everyone to join and ‘have a seat at the table’. Whether you picture this table to be a dinner table or a table in a corporate boardroom, by entering this space you are open to share your ideas and experiences without judgement in a safe space. LEAD and Inclusive Communities have come together to create a series of events aimed at feeding both your mind, body and soul.

Each fortnight we will delve into a current affairs or social topic based around a question the group is looking to answer. The Community Table is a similar format to Triple J's HACK or INSIGHT on SBS. That being at its core, this is a roundtable discussion where a topic is broken down each week.

Shared knowledge, community connection and empathy is the underlying goal for these events. Previous questions included:
- Should there be things money can’t buy?
- Is education a privilege or a right?
- How can we promote a LGBQTIA+ inclusive work environment?
- How do we bridge our personal backgrounds into a multicultural student community?

So, bring along something good to eat, open your mind and be part of the conversations that challenge us to think, do and be better.

The Disability Collective is for carers and students who identify as having a temporary or permanent disability. The collective is open to all carers and students who have sensory, intellectual, physical, mental and/or other disabilities or chronic health conditions. The role of the Disability Collective is to remove discrimination on the basis of having a disability and engage in activities and advocacy that will further develop accessibility and representation for/of students with disabilities at Western Sydney University.

The collective also serves to assist students within the university with a disability or carer role to have a presence in student representation.

Our mission is to assist Elite Student Athletes and Performers get the most out of their time at Western Sydney University by providing them the support they need to succeed both in their academic and sporting pursuits.

Once approved as a member of the Elite Athlete and Supporters Program, you will gain access to a range of benefits that will help make your time studying with Western Sydney University a more enjoyable experience and allow you to better juggle all of your commitments.

"This club is in affiliation with EWB Australia and will come under the NSW region. see https://www.ewb.org.au/explore/chapters/nsw for more information about the chapter. As a Western Sydney University club we will develop our own contributions to EWB. The aims of the Student Club are:

i. Bring together like-minded Western Sydney University Students for the purpose of improving their social and cultural experience through offering member events and activities focused on benefiting the community as a whole.
ii. Increase student awareness of sustainable development goals, and the needs of the long list of developing countries as declared by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
iii. Give students the tools to address issues highlighted by the sustainable development goals.
iv. Help students learn how to communicate engineering knowledge to help people to lead a life free from poverty.
v. To encourage integrity, upholding of community values, sustainability, respect, learning and quality in students.
vi. To build lifelong friendships and collaboration between students based on a common desire to help others.
vii. Provide an opportunity for Western Sydney University Students to actively participate in Engineers Without Borders events as part of a formal Western Sydney University Student Club."

The Environment Collective (EC) aims to move our efforts beyond the false dichotomy of built and natural environments, recognising the indivisibility of our ecological, social and economic realities. As signatory to the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Higher Education Commitment, Western is committed to promoting the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which means acting according to environmentally sustainable principles. We will hold the University accountable, advocating for the integrity and rights of Nature, and the physical and psychological benefits which flow from immersion in thriving ecosystems.
We have already begun to develop collaborations with the SDSN Youth chapter at Western, the student club P.E.A.C.E. Unlimited which is working towards the SDGs at Western, Hawkesbury Council Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee, Sustainable Futures, and Chaplaincy. We are implementing initiatives aimed at eradicating single-use plastics (cutlery, straws, etc) on campus, discounts for bringing your own coffee cup, avoiding use of plastic bottles at all events, changing air con / heating temperatures by 2 degrees, and installing a student-community food garden.
The EC will continue to strive to empower the Uni – and ourselves – to adopt ethical and sustainable practices for the sake of Humanity and our Home.
