Mission
Our club is called The Hybridised Ensemble for Film & Theatre (THEFT), with the motto
being ‘Steal the Show’.

THEFT is a dramatic arts club, focusing on the worlds of theatre and film.
The aim of THEFT is to create a dynamic and inclusive space for students to explore both
worlds, which are currently underrepresented within the student community. Contrasting
other university clubs, THEFT provides members the flexibility to choose their level and area
of involvement, whether in stage performance, screen acting, or a blend of both. This gifts
them a more creative experience, more personalised and tailored to them.

The founding party is committed to growing a strong, collaborative community. We plan to
achieve this through collaborations with other university clubs and organisations; we have
already begun discussions with potential partners, who have expressed great interest. By
implementing initiatives such as producing promotional content, not only are other groups
supported, but our members are also provided with practical, real world experience in acting
and production.

Our aim as a collective is to produce at least one major theatrical performance annually, with
smaller film and digital media projects scattered throughout the year. These predictions will
act as creative outlets for members, while also offering them opportunities for skill
development, visibility, and community engagement. Our plans for the long term include
larger scale projects and industry awareness: we aspire to expand into short film productions
and participation in film festivals; we also aim to build connections with industry
professionals, such as actors and creatives, to form opportunities for collaboration,
mentorship and future production support.

The purpose of THEFT is to provide students with a creative escape from the pressures of
academia, whilst fostering confidence, collaboration, and artistic growth. Through media
projects, performances, and workshops, we aspire to cultivate a supportive environment
where students can connect, express themselves, and develop both personally and
professionally.

On the Parramatta campus, WSMSA aims to:

We also barrack for the provision of halal food for Muslims on campus, . These things, amongst many others, are done to accommodate the needs of Muslims on campus.

We also hold events and initiatives to promote Islam. These events focus on a variety of topics, from core Islamic matters central to every Muslim, to the controversial topics that flourish the headlines. Through this, we aim to educate Muslims and non-Muslims about Islam so that they may gain a sound and thorough understanding, as we seek to engage in intellectual discourse with all manner of other faiths.

We hope that WSMSA Parramatta can serve and assist the student population by engaging as a dynamic and creative student body on the basis of Islam.
