AAYC was created in July 2019 in response to the need for a Western Sydney University student club that represented African students and friends of Africa. The African Diaspora community and perspective is very important to the Western
Sydney context and beyond. The founders of AAYC have set out to deliver a club that offers students the opportunity to participate in personal and professional enhancing activities that focus on issues affecting Africans on the African continent as well as the Diaspora.

The 3 focus areas of the Collective are:
1. Community engagement
2. Career advancement
3. Creative arts

The core objective of the Collective is to provide a creative and supportive network where members can use their passions and skills to build a portfolio that they can transfer into their career area of choice. The Collective endeavours to work on existing and new projects that focus on empowering and uplifting Africans, especially the Diaspora in the Western Sydney Community. Furthermore, the Collective wishes to facilitate cultural understanding and exchanges for members of the wider
community.

AAYC is a collective for the student that thinks and dreams big, for the intrigued but reserved student and everyone in between!

We intend to host fun events throughout the semesters to help students relax and take a break from all the stress.

The members of the BSCC work tirelessly to ensure that there are initiatives and resources readily available to students at WSU and the broader community in order to openly recognise and empower each and every individual that exists within it. Moreover, the team works hard to create awareness around issues that are often stigmatised such as mental health, sexual harassment, discrimination and many more. It is important as a BSCC member to allow other’s voices to be heard and do so by providing a medium that will allow a safe, friendly and non-judgmental discourse to occur. CBM Penrith is a group of Jesus-believing, Bible-reading students. People from any church or none at all are welcome to join with us.

We meet throughout the week to read the Bible, pray, and think about what it means to follow Jesus. We have daily Bible study groups for Christians to grow in their knowledge of God, daily groups for those who wish to investigate Christianity, a weekly public meeting where we gather together for a talk and to think deeper, and a Monday night training time with dinner. We also have 2 major conferences in the middle and end of the year, and go away on Mission together at the end of semester 2.
