We invite you to The Table.

Breaking down any exclusivity, we warmly welcome everyone to join and ‘have a seat at the table’. Whether you picture this table to be a dinner table or a table in a corporate boardroom, by entering this space you are open to share your ideas and experiences without judgement in a safe space. LEAD and Inclusive Communities have come together to create a series of events aimed at feeding both your mind, body and soul.

Each fortnight we will delve into a current affairs or social topic based around a question the group is looking to answer. The Community Table is a similar format to Triple J's HACK or INSIGHT on SBS. That being at its core, this is a roundtable discussion where a topic is broken down each week.

Shared knowledge, community connection and empathy is the underlying goal for these events. Previous questions included:
- Should there be things money can’t buy?
- Is education a privilege or a right?
- How can we promote a LGBQTIA+ inclusive work environment?
- How do we bridge our personal backgrounds into a multicultural student community?

So, bring along something good to eat, open your mind and be part of the conversations that challenge us to think, do and be better.

"This club is in affiliation with EWB Australia and will come under the NSW region. see https://www.ewb.org.au/explore/chapters/nsw for more information about the chapter. As a Western Sydney University club we will develop our own contributions to EWB. The aims of the Student Club are:

i. Bring together like-minded Western Sydney University Students for the purpose of improving their social and cultural experience through offering member events and activities focused on benefiting the community as a whole.
ii. Increase student awareness of sustainable development goals, and the needs of the long list of developing countries as declared by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
iii. Give students the tools to address issues highlighted by the sustainable development goals.
iv. Help students learn how to communicate engineering knowledge to help people to lead a life free from poverty.
v. To encourage integrity, upholding of community values, sustainability, respect, learning and quality in students.
vi. To build lifelong friendships and collaboration between students based on a common desire to help others.
vii. Provide an opportunity for Western Sydney University Students to actively participate in Engineers Without Borders events as part of a formal Western Sydney University Student Club."

i. To improve our society on a global scale by fundraising for charity and other charity activities to bring awareness to our community.
ii. To unite like-minded students at Western Sydney University through organising events and activities that foster community, while also raising funds for charitable causes. Provide an opportunity for Western Sydney University Students to actively participate as part of a formal Western Sydney University Student Club structure.
iii. To provide a formal structure for Western Sydney University students to actively participate in fundraising and philanthropic efforts as part of a student club, and to provide opportunities for leadership development and personal growth.
iv. To help Western Sydney University students develop transferable skills in fundraising, communication, and organisation that will benefit their future careers, while also creating opportunities for networking with other like-minded students.

Mission
VSA is a diverse student organisation of youths based in NSW. We strongly uphold the values of culture, community, and leadership. We, as a society, give back to the Vietnamese community through preservation of culture, charitable events, meaningful development opportunities, and a platform to form social and professional connections. VSA is passionate about community involvement and immersing ourselves in areas of social awareness and justice.

Our mission for 2023 is to elevate Western Sydney University’s presence and relevance within VSA and affiliated university chapters as well as the wider community through philanthropic and community events.

VSA strongly advocates for inclusivity and embraces multiculturalism. We break down the stereotype that you need to be from a Vietnamese background to join by welcoming everyone with open arms into our family.
